{"id":70,"date":"2020-01-08T16:34:04","date_gmt":"2020-01-08T16:34:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu\/mes152-samplesite\/?page_id=70"},"modified":"2020-01-08T17:00:34","modified_gmt":"2020-01-08T17:00:34","slug":"media-then-now","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu\/mes152-samplesite\/media-then-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Media Then &amp; Now"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>This topic gives students an overview of media and its vast influence on all aspects of our society and our personal lives.&nbsp;&nbsp; First, students should have a basic understanding of mass media\u2019s evolution by briefly reviewing the histories of different forms of media.&nbsp; Then, class discussions should examine media in the present day.&nbsp; With the advent of the personal computer, the increasingly widespread availability of the internet and more affordable mobile devices, media now can be viewed, experienced and globally consumed like never before.&nbsp; Comparisons should be made between media then and now.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Students should understand the basic differences between mass media and corporate media.
