Everyone who is not Above the Line in a media budget is Below The Line. In other words, anyone who is not the Producer, Director, Writer or Principal Cast is Below the Line personnel. Below the Line personnel are usually hired just before production begins, whereas Above the Line personnel can be hired months before production begins. Sometimes the First Assistant Director is hired a month before, to help with scheduling the production and other pre-production tasks. Also, the Director of Photography and\/or Production Designer are hired earlier, to help the Director prepare for the production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
