Sometimes you look at a film and it is so memorably <em>itself</em> that it&#8217;s hard to liken it to anything else. I feel like everyone really knew what they were going for in tone and were just having wild fun with it.</p>

The stillness and&#8211;not silence, exactly, though it kind of evokes the feeling of it, is really well used, going from tense and suspenseful to overly cheery in an instant, jarring enough that it almost makes you laugh. Even the side characters and extras were super memorable. My heart twinges every time I remember the band who played music as it sank. (And it got a shout out in Encanto!)</p>
