About Me
Professor Thrower is a native of Pittsburgh PA. She brings almost two decades of maternal and child health experience to higher education with her most rewarding working for the Quinault Indian Nation. She has served in leadership capacity within Massachusetts and Connecticut (first documented Women, Infants and Children’s program in the state). She has researched and published numerous scholarly articles around health statuses within underrepresented populations and the transtheoretical behaviors model. Outside of academia she enjoys quiet moments by the water, 90’s music and exploring community-based coffee shops!
Academic Interests
Maternal and child health. Issues which affect health statuses among minority women.
