{"id":755,"date":"2021-04-29T12:53:46","date_gmt":"2021-04-29T16:53:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu\/media-arts-and-technology\/?p=755"},"modified":"2021-12-10T10:21:14","modified_gmt":"2021-12-10T14:21:14","slug":"mmd-majors-fall-2021-registration-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu\/media-arts-and-technology\/mmd-majors-fall-2021-registration-update\/","title":{"rendered":"MMD Majors Fall 2021 Registration Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This information is for Multimedia Programming and Design (MMD) majors for Fall 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Registration Availability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All MMP and MMA classes are open for registration!<\/strong> Now is a great time to register as you have the most flexibility in building your schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most courses will be online either synchronous or asynchronous. There will be a limited number of face-to-face sections, mostly introductory classes. See <a href=\"#f2f\">Face-to-face classes for Fall 2021<\/a> below for more info<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summer 2021 Tuition Waivers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With the summer waiver, the school pays for the tuition and you pay the fees. Register for an eligible summer course by <strong>May 1 <\/strong>(summer 1) or<strong> June 15 (<\/strong>summer 2) for priority selection for a waiver. If you have questions email  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmcc.cuny.edu\/academics\/advisement\/\">Academic Advisement &amp; Transfer Center<\/a>&nbsp;at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:aatc@bmcc.cuny.edu\">aatc@bmcc.cuny.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two types of waivers<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Petrie Completion Waiver<\/strong><ol><li>To be eligible you can only &nbsp;have three (3) or fewer courses left to complete your degree.<\/li><li>If you&#8217;re eligible then any course that counts for your degree can have the tuition waiver (up to one course in summer 1 and one course in summer 2.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li><strong>STEM Waiver<\/strong><ol><li>This applies only to STEM courses. The possible courses are: MMP 100, MMA 100, MMP 200, MMP 210, MMP 250 and ANI 260.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check back here for more information as the details are worked out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Study Labs Fall 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We do plan on opening computer labs for you to use to do homework in Fall 2021. The number of labs and the process for using them will be posted closer to the start of the Fall semester.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Internships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to take the internship class, <strong>MEA 371 Media Arts and Technology<\/strong> Internship, then you will need to register on <strong>Career Express<\/strong> and attend an <strong>Internship Information Session<\/strong>. The Office of Internships and Experiential Learning registers you. You can\u2019t register yourself on CUNYfirst. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To register for MEA 371 please<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu\/media-arts-and-technology\/2020\/11\/19\/registering-for-an-internship-mea-371\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"159\">read this post<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Courses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Flyers attached for ANI 360 and MMP 270.
