There are three categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Within CUNY:<\/strong> you might be able to access by virtue of being a CUNY student.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Outside CUNY: <\/strong>Makerspaces from other institutions outside CUNY. While inaccessible to CUNY students, it is nice to know what is out there, and might even help determine if you plan to transfer in the future.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Public Makerspaces:<\/strong> These are for the public to use, but will need to pay for a membership in order to use the space.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Within CUNY<\/h2>\n<p>To Be Added Upon<\/p>\n<h2>Outside CUNY<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/fab\/\"><strong>Interactive Telecommunications Program<\/strong><\/a> (ITP)\u00a0 at NYU has A fabrication space dedicated for the their students, though non ITP\/IMA students can use it on request.<\/li>\n<li>The<a href=\"http:\/\/makerspace.engineering.nyu.edu\/\"><strong> Tandon School of Engineering<\/strong><\/a> has a makerspace available for NYU students.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyu.edu\/life\/information-technology\/locations-and-facilities\/laguardia-studio\/laguardia-studio-resources.html\"><strong>LaGuardia Studio<\/strong> <\/a>is a dedicated 3D printing lab for NYU.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/make.columbia.edu\/\"><strong>Columbia University<\/strong> <\/a>has a makerspace for students and alumni use.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newschool.edu\/parsons\/making-center\/\"><strong>Parsons<\/strong> <\/a>has a makerspace for New School students.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vfl.sva.edu\/\"><strong>The School of Visual Arts<\/strong><\/a> as the Visible Futures Lab for their students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Public Makerspaces<\/h2>\n<p>Please note the prices I list are the lowest for accessing the machinery. Some groups have higher or lower tiers you can purchase but may not have access.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.makerspace.nyc\/\"><strong>Makerspace NYC<\/strong> <\/a>is a homegrown community that took over the former TechShop space in Brooklyn. The lowest membership that allows you to use the machines is $150\/month<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fatcatfablab.org\/\"><strong>Fat Cat Fab Lab<\/strong> <\/a>offers workshops and events, as well as work space. Basic membership that will allow you access to the machines is $110\/month<\/li>\n<li>While a close knit community, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nycresistor.com\/\"><strong>NYC Resistor<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0welcomes new people to join! Their membership dues is $115\/month<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/hackmanhattan.com\/\"><strong>Hack Manhattan<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is another makerspace.
