My name is Leticia Rodriguez and i identify as she\/her.\u00a0 This is my first semester in college.\u00a0 My major is psychology\/sociology, and my passion is to accomplish getting my degree,\u00a0 and work as a psychologist.\u00a0 This interest has become more intense, when most of my family suffers from mental challenges.\u00a0 Mental illness has been in my family for generations. I would like to closely study how to make a thought and stay with that positive though.\u00a0 What worked for me, was changing my thoughts from negative into positive.\u00a0 Of course it was easier said than done, but i was determined\u00a0 not poison my brain and get myself ill.\u00a0 I often saw\u00a0 my mother go through episodes i couldn’t understand and felt desperate to help her,\u00a0 and trying to understand mental illness around me was never easy. I feel drawn to understanding the different sides\/levels to mental health.\u00a0 I want to make a difference in the our community.<\/p>\n
I started my journey working for the non-profits organizations community clinic as a distribution clerk in the health educational services, which offered therapy, acupunture, and psychiatry. I worked my way up becoming\u00a0 an administrator for Domestic Violence Mental Health Shelter for Women.<\/p>\n
In this chaotic and changing world can become in a terrifying world we leave behind for our future generations.\u00a0 Most Americans today are suffering\u00a0 from this terrible disease and are undiagnosed.\u00a0 Let’s right our wrongs, and take a stand against mental illness. help is out there, and we need more professionals in this field\u00a0 to make that goal happen.\u00a0 If for us, let’s do it for our children.<\/p>\n
