Whenever I think about this topic once can’t seem to consider how it is manipulated and utilized in the media and politically. It is extreme the way people from both sides of the argument impose their ideas onto one another. Yes, this is a new world and time we live in, however in my opinion it is the same. we speak about issues concerning sex and gender it is not mentioned how I would think. yes, we are not to think of the stereotypes that foreshadow what defines masculinity and femininity for example I’m always seen as the” big black female” who is supposed to be strong and forbear my strength as some kind of badge. in addition, the looks I receive because of my deep dark melatonin and because my vernacular in people’s eyes never match what they assume they are gasping for air. So why did I mention this? To be aware of the issues I know the LGBTQ+A face daily because of differences and just want society to understand that it’s their difference and their preference. I know how legislation feels and the majority feel about this but on an individual level or in some groups it is not that important it’s not to say that their gender doesn’t matter but to some people, it’s not a matter because people need to be looked at and considered for who they are not what they are. my only concern about the moment in the LGBTQ+A is the aggression sometimes a few bad apples display and how they feel this need to shove or push their agenda around. I’m from a different time whereas when you were gay or otherwise it was hidden, and most people didn’t want it around like they do today. Yes, representation matters, and I know that it’s a fight to be equal like the rest, but it shouldn’t have to come from violence or yelling obscenities at someone who may look different wear different clothing, and or may look like what most of society thinks. whether that battle is lawfully or civically people need to show more love and treat each other as intended not by society’s means or the law but by what natural law or (GOD) says: love your neighbor as you love yourself.
