The short story the handsomest drowned man ever is a story about a village that ends up finding a drowned man and accepting him even though he was much bigger and was different than anything they have ever seen before, to me the message of this story is not to judge a book by its cover and to be open and willing to change.
This relates to me as a student because as a student you have to be open to and willing to learn about new topics and subjects.

The Handsomest Drowned Man In The World implies that, even in death, someone who inspires awe in people can continue their legacy no matter what the circumstances are. But, you must be willing to listen and learn. A readily engaging audience is the only one who will listen and understand your influence.

I imagine I’ll be using this sentiment in my next English papers. In order for people to be interested and listen to my presented information, I first need to establish credibility and an attention grabber.
