Welcome<\/sub><\/sup><\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

This is our class website for English 101 at BMCC<\/a> in New York City for the Spring semester 2023. Each student created an “About Me”<\/a> slide. Then we divided into small groups to create Semester Projects<\/a> about either “This is Water” by David Foster Walla<\/a>ce or “The Danger of a Single Story” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each student also created a short presentation about the question of whether friendship is chosen or whether it just happens. Here is a link to the students’ initial ideas about this question, shared in a padlet: Friendship<\/a>. Here is a collection of some of the students’ Friendship Projects<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Semester Project was inspired by the AANAPISI Bridge Initiative<\/a> BMCC\/Hunter ABI Workshop’s prompt to create an innovation based on the question of “why am I here?” The “About Me” slides were inspired by an innovation by Professor Claire Balani<\/a> at CCNY. Syelle Graves<\/a> at BMCC helped with the design, specifications and layout of this website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
