(Line 6-8)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">I only know that summer sang in me<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A little while, that in me sings no more. (Line 13-14)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">It is expressed in a sad tone, and sounds depressing at the end, indicating not only the love has gone, but the memory of love has also lost. The sad voice also brings the reader into a scene of something deep inside the reader\u2019s heart, to recall earlier memory with such strong and powerful feelings and emotions, pain and cry, about the loss of love.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The last words of \u201cpain\u201d, and \u201cagain\u201d on line 6 and 7 both have the same rhyme to emphasize the reaction to the loss of love.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Of the last two sentences on line 13 and 14, it has a comma to separate \u201ca little while\u201d and \u201cthat in me sings no more\u201d, The comma is a short pause to read it slowly which enhances the sad tone to reveal the happiness has gone and it does not return any more.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Edna Millay\u2019s \u201cWhat lips my lips have kissed, and where, and why\u201d, in a style of\u00a0 Italian sonnet:\u00a0 And in my heart there stirs a quiet pain For unremembered lads that not again Will turn to me at midnight with a cry.
