For example when he says that reading a poem might make you \u201csweat\u201d a little, but that it\u2019s like a sport &#8211; it takes practice and in the end, you get better.\u00a0 The poet William Carlos Williams, in acknowledging the challenges of reading poetry, writes that a reader must \u201ccomplete\u201d what the poet has begun. One example from this week\u2019s readings can be the poem \u201cMy Last Duchess\u201d in which you need to \u201ctalk back to a poem\u201d as mentioned in the article. The author of the article gives some questions to ask yourself which I think are helpful in order to understand this poem better, such as who is the speaker, and what situation is presented? In this case, the speaker is a Duke, he shows someone the painting of his first wife, the Duchess, and tells him about her and a little about their relationship. The Duke says \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She had<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A heart \u2014 how shall I say? \u2014 too soon made glad,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Too easily impressed; she liked whate\u2019er<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She looked on, and her looks went everywhere\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She had a big heart and saw good in everything, she was friendly.
