This week we will be reading a selection of short works from the 19th Century that feature women protagonists: \u201cThe Story of an Hour\u201d by Kate Chopin and \u201cThe Necklace\u201d by Guy De Maupassant, along with the Emily Dickinson&#8217;s poem \u201cThe Wife.\u201d\u00a0 We will also read a 20th Century story by Egyptian writer Alifa Rifaat.
