I also want the students to understand what it means to represent another country or tradition and why we should respect them, and how they get to accept themselves as they are, to admit all people are acceptable and why should we not criticize them. How to help&nbsp;myself&nbsp;and others overcome complexes and how not&nbsp;to&nbsp;inflict pain on others. How to love my family, my country, and my friends.&nbsp; &nbsp; <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong> <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong> <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong> <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong> <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong> <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong> <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong> <strong>The five sub-themes (topics) of my curriculum are:<\/strong> <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Myself &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/td><td>My Family<\/td><td>My Culture\/Traditions &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/td><td>My Relationships<\/td><td>The World Around Me<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>&nbsp; <strong>For each of my sub-themes, three possible activities that would support students in learning about that topic are:<\/strong> <strong>(Make sure to include a range of creative arts activities and at least one literacy activity for each sub-theme)<\/strong> &nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>&nbsp; Observe myself, how do I look? Which shape do I have, what color are my eyes, hair, and skin? What do I love? What makes me happy an unhappy? Let\u2019s imagine \u201cme\u201d in every age: as a baby, as an adult, as in age and as a grandparent. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/td><td>&nbsp; How many members do I have in my family? How many languages do we speak? Let\u2019s play \u201cIt\u2019s my grandmother\u2019s birthday party\u201d. Let\u2019s make a family tree. &nbsp;<\/td><td>&nbsp; Share what do we celebrate together? Let\u2019s talk about our national food, dance, songs, clothe. Bring any traditional food and speak about it.<\/td><td>&nbsp; What do we do with our friends? Let\u2019s draw how our friends look. Let\u2019s make a gift for our besties, what would you do?<\/td><td>&nbsp; Lets\u2019 draw the map, where am I there? Let\u2019s learn \u201chello\u201d in as many languages as we could remember. World\u2019s most famous celebrations that I like. &nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Art-project: &nbsp; Draw myself, with crayons on the paper. Make smile emojis. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/td><td>Activity: &nbsp; Pretending we are family, and we are getting ready for grandma\u2019s birthday party. We will use kitchen area. Cut and draw tree and write down our family member\u2019s names.<\/td><td>Activity: &nbsp; Wear traditional clothe, bring any food, singing traditional songs. &nbsp;<\/td><td>Activity: &nbsp; Draw friends with coloring pencils. Cut construction paper and make rectangle, square, circle shape, color them with paint.<\/td><td>Art-project: &nbsp; Using construction paper, paint, crayons. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Books: &nbsp; \u201cI like myself\u201d &nbsp; \u201cIt\u2019s okey to be different.\u201d &nbsp; \u201cWhat I like about me \u201c &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/td><td>Books: &nbsp; \u201cMe and my family tree\u201d &nbsp; \u201cMy family, your family\u201d &nbsp; \u201cOwl babies\u201d &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/td><td>Books: &nbsp; \u201cCelebrations around the world!\u201d By Helen Gregory &nbsp; \u201cCelebrate!
