Building Curriculum Through Books <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Please complete all sections of the book report. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Curriculum Theme: _____The world around me ________________________ <\/p>\n\n\n\n Book title: _\u201d We are different, we are the same and we are all wonderful\u201d _______________________________ <\/p>\n\n\n\n Author: __Bobbi Jane Kates______________________________ <\/p>\n\n\n\n Summarize your book. <\/strong>What is the story about? <\/p>\n\n\n\n This is the story about how we all are the same, no matter who we look like, who wears what, or who has which skin color. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Mirrors and Windows: <\/strong>How might this book support children in your class. Is it a mirror, window, a sliding door, or a combination? Explain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n This book will support children in my classroom to be who they are. So, what if I have orange hair, or long nose, or I am fat, tall or very thin? I will still be your friend and stand by you like a dark hair with small nose, or midget. To me, this example illustrates all the three combinations: A mirror, a window and sliding door. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Describe the illustrations. <\/strong>How do the illustrations add to the story? <\/p>\n\n\n\n The illustrations are very lovely, funny, and amazing and exactly respond to the story told in the book. <\/p>\n\n\n\n List questions <\/strong>that you would ask before, during or following a read aloud or discussion of this book. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDescribe yourself\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDescribe your friends\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhy we are different?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhy we are the same?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhat unites all of us?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Get creative! <\/strong>Briefly describe an art activity (using visual arts, movement, music, or dramatic play) that you would do with your class of 4, 5, or 6-yearolds in connection with a reading this book. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Let’s draw ourselves and our friends. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Sub-Theme #5 Building Curriculum Through Books Please complete all sections of the book report.
