You should have received an email from BMCC asking you to \u201ccomplete the course evaluation survey.\u201d If you have not, let me know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Activity 2: What does it mean to reflect?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>What might be some benefits of writing a reflection&#8211;about your life, about the semester, about this course? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Activity 3: The value of self-reflection. <\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a TEDxTalk about the value of self-reflection. Do you agree? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Value of Self-Reflection | James Schmidt | TEDxUniversityofGlasgow\" width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/G1bgdwC_m-Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Activity 4: Another perspective on self-reflection, by a life coach. <\/h1>\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu\/crt100fyef23barnes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1763\/2021\/08\/Self-reflection-3.pdf\" class=\"pdfemb-viewer\" style=\"\" data-width=\"max\" data-height=\"max\" data-toolbar=\"bottom\" data-toolbar-fixed=\"off\">Self-reflection-3<\/a>\n<p class=\"wp-block-pdfemb-pdf-embedder-viewer\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Activity 5: Final Reflection Assignment<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Your final essay of the semester, the reflection, will give you the opportunity to look back at your work over the semester and evaluate your progress toward strengthening your critical thinking skills.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover is-light\" style=\"min-height:290px;aspect-ratio:unset;\"><span aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-cover__background has-pale-pink-background-color has-background-dim-100 has-background-dim\"><\/span><div class=\"wp-block-cover__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-cover-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-large-font-size\">Your final reflection should be 3 pages long, typed in font 12 in Microsoft Word, and double spaced. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-large-font-size\">Here are the steps to writing your final reflection:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong>: Think back to the reflection you wrote during the first week of class, about how you see the world. Has your\u00a0worldview\u00a0changed after this class?\u00a0If so, how? If not, why not? This will be your introduction. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong>: Select <strong>3-5 assignments<\/strong> that you feel were especially helpful in developing your critical thinking skills. Examples: one of your Conversation posts, argument essay, peer review, presentation, etc.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Step 3<\/strong>: Describe each of those assignments by answering the questions: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What did you have to do and how did you complete the assignment?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Did you face any challenges? <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What did you learn from the assignment? <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How can you apply what you learned to your life outside of this class?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember, this is an essay, not just a list. This is your opportunity to show your growth as a critical thinker. Since this is not a course evaluation (there is another opportunity for that) you should not discuss me or the class. You are the subject of this essay; your goal is to demonstrate your growth and achievements in this class. Be specific, provide&nbsp;examples\u2014this&nbsp;is your evidence here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Activity 6: Write a draft of your final reflection. <\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember that a key ingredient to writing a great essay is revising it until it shines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-purple-color\"><strong>Activity 7: Submit final reflection on Blackboard by <\/strong><\/mark>Dec 14th. <\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you and I can&#8217;t wait to read it!
