Nearby residents were told to evacuate as chemicals such as vinyl chloride and many others in the air are very harmful. I don’t think I noticed any bias but I noticed their priorities and takes on the same news are different. The first news media is “The Daily Caller” where the focus is more on the toxic chemicals as the title states “We Basically Nuked a Town.” They covered EPAs list of chemicals that can have huge effect on our environment or our well being. The second one is from the “Washington Post” where they covered more on the residents’ concerns. The federal and local officials are saying it’s now safe while the air still seems contaminated. They have also not listed all the chemicals that were present, they’re keeping them in the dark. The news media shared both the point of views of the officials and the residents. However, more detailed descriptions from the residents can be to show favor towards them. After reading it, I also believe the officials aren’t taking this seriously. There are unknown and harmful chemicals in the air and water which is a huge environmental and ecological disaster yet they are telling them to clean their homes by themselves. There’s also not enough closure on this news. While the last news media focused more on the wildlife that were affected by these toxic chemicals. The first two seemed more detailed and informative than the third one. Whether the news was not detailed or thorough, it’s still facts. There are photos and videos or even related articles for more details on this news.

The event I chose from AllSides is “EPA, Residents Warn of Ecological Damage From Ohio Train Crash.” All three news media were very informational and they all stated that the train derailment in Ohio on Feb 3rd caused a massive explosion of harmful chemicals.
