{"id":515,"date":"2020-10-05T14:53:14","date_gmt":"2020-10-05T14:53:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu\/mmp260-1300-intro-2d-animation-fall-2020\/?page_id=515"},"modified":"2021-01-30T18:23:36","modified_gmt":"2021-01-30T18:23:36","slug":"walk-cycle-1","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu\/ani-260-1300-intro-2d-animation-sp-2021\/walk-cycle-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Walk cycle 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final project- step 2: walk cycle (rough)<\/h1>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Subject<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This week, you will create a rough-draft of your character\u2019s walk cycle.\u00a0Your cycle should have (at least)\u00a0<strong>8 frames<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu\/ani-260-1300-intro-2d-animation-sp-2021\/week-8\/\"><strong>\u00a0(see this page) <\/strong><\/a>and should\u00a0<strong>loop seamlessly.\u00a0<\/strong>Try to match the walk to your character\u2019s personality (happy\/bouncy, sad\/slow, shy\/small etc\u2026).\u00a0I recommend that you\u00a0<strong>draft your poses with pencil and paper first<\/strong>\u00a0and then translate them into digital frames in Animate by using the program\u2019s\u00a0<strong>basic shapes and pen tool\u00a0<\/strong>(if you need a refresher on using the pen tool, I recommend this game:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bezier.method.ac\/\">https:\/\/bezier.method.ac<\/a>). Don\u2019t worry about details now \u2013 just focus on the\u00a0<strong>body, head, legs and arms \u2013 no facial features, clothes etc\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Format<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Use the following file format: 24fps, width: 1280px | height: 720px.\u00a0Save your .fla file and export your animation to an animated GIF (in animate, go to\u00a0<em>File &gt; Export &gt; Animated GIF<\/em>).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Submission<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Create a new post on your Open Lab portfolio. Your post should include your animated GIF (make sure you select\u00a0<em>Full Size<\/em>\u00a0when inserting your file)\u00a0as well as a\u00a0<strong>short description<\/strong>\u00a0(reflections on your process, challenges, goals etc. are also welcome).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This assignment is due next week.
